Electrical BIM Modeling & Coordination in NYC
Power, lighting, conduit and cable tray modeled in Revit and coordinated with plumbing, HVAC and fire protection, so the electrical work has its space before anyone hangs a strut.
Electrical in the same model as every other trade
Cable tray, large conduit runs, bus duct and panels compete for the same ceilings, shafts and electrical rooms as pipe, duct and sprinkler mains. Pipe Dream Solutions models the electrical systems in Autodesk Revit alongside the rest of the MEP package and coordinates them in Navisworks, so routing and clearances are agreed on screen instead of argued on site.
We work from the electrical contract drawings and your specifications, flag what is missing or in conflict, and model what your electricians will actually install.
What we model
- Power distribution: feeders, panels, transformers, switchboards and their required working clearances
- Lighting layouts and fixtures, coordinated with ceilings, diffusers and sprinkler heads
- Conduit and cable tray routing, including racks and shared supports
- Fire alarm and low-voltage pathways
- Sleeves and penetrations for slabs, walls and shafts
Coordination with plumbing, HVAC and fire protection
Electrical joins the same weekly clash runs and coordination meetings as every other trade. Panel and equipment clearances are checked against pipe and duct, tray elevations are set with the mechanical and sprinkler mains, and every open item gets an owner until it is closed.
Drawings for the field
From the coordinated model we produce electrical coordination and shop drawings: plans, sections and sleeve layouts, floor by floor, in PDF and AutoCAD DWG, with the Revit model when you want the source. See also our MEP shop drawings.
We serve GCs and electrical and MEP trade contractors across New York City, Long Island and New Jersey, and work remotely nationwide.
Questions
Do you model electrical as well as plumbing, HVAC and fire protection?
Yes. We model power, lighting, conduit and cable tray in the same Revit model as the other MEP trades and coordinate them together.
Can you coordinate electrical for an electrical subcontractor only?
Yes. We can model and coordinate the electrical trade for an electrical contractor, or lead coordination of the full MEP package for a GC.
Do you check equipment clearances?
Yes. Working clearances in front of panels, switchboards and transformers are modeled so other trades do not route through them.
What do you deliver?
Revit models (RVT), Navisworks files (NWC/NWD), and PDF and AutoCAD DWG drawing sets.
Send us your drawings.
We will show you the risks first.
Upload a few sheets or paste a link to the full set (Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, BuildingConnected, Procore). It goes straight to our team.
